|Halacha - new utensils and avoiding toveling|
|Submitted by Nachshon Leib Answered by Rav Peretz Moncharsh|
|Question: If you buy new utensils, give them as a present to a goi and the goi gives them (immediately without using them) back to you as a present, is there still need to tovel these utensils?
|Answer: Yes. As a matter of fact, if you even give a goy your own, old utensils temporarily they require a new tevila. That is why we do not sell the pots for Pesach, only the chometz absorbed in them.

I'm afraid not. Maybe you are thinking of the kula of giving the utensil to a Goy and BORROWING it back, as mentioned in Shulchan Aruch OC 323:7.

However if it is Shabbos then you would be able to rely on this kula of giving it to a Goy and then aquiring it back as a present. However you would need to then tovel it again without a beracha.
Is this correct?
