Halacha - printing the shem havayah
Submitted by anonymous  Answered by Rav Peretz Moncharsh
Answer: It is permitted לכתחילה to write Hashem's name for Divrei Torah under circumstances where it is not likely to be disgraced. It is a machlokes whether the page may be erased, and in my opinion it is generally accepted to be permitted because one is not erasing physical words, just interrupting the flow of electrons and preventing the words from being formed in the future. However, since some Poskim are machmir regarding erasing Hashem's name on a computer screen and it is easily avoidable by using a kinuyi, it would be preferable to be machmir in the future. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
