Halacha - hotel rooms on shabbos
Submitted by anonymous  Answered by Rav Peretz Moncharsh
Question:
Answer: Technically speaking it would be permitted since you do not derive direct benefit from his action, he has simply removed an obstacle from your path and it is termed mavriach ari. However, this situation could easily lead to serious problems that potentially you could have a Jew doing melacha specifically for your benefit on Shabbos and you would bear responsibility for his action. So it would be very advisable to avoid such a situation.
