Hi C.!

There is a minhag brought down in sefarim that one should recount his own nissim that he personally experienced and one should articulate his own individual ge'ula from shi'bud l'cheirus. Some mefarshim explain "v'noimar l'fanuv shira chadasha" in this manner as it is presented b'lashon hoiveh rather than in the past tense.

Nevertheless, the main chiyuv of Pesach night is definitely Sippur Y'tzias Mitzrayim which includes expounding on the Haggadah. So, if an individual did indeed go through an unfortunate period of shi'bud and subsequently was redeemed and went out l'cheirus, according to the above mentioned minhag, he should apportion some time to relate his own personal "nes" to his children. On the other hand those of us in current times, who B'chasdei Hashem are growing up in a malchus shel chesed, should rather focus on Sippur Yitzius Mitzrayim like the rest of Klal Yisrael for thousands of years.

May we all be zoicheh to see the true ge'ulah, b'vias HaMoshiach and personally be able to recount to our children the nissim that Hashem will do for us Bekarov B'yamaeinu.

Tzvi Frank
