Halacha - irreligious children
Submitted by Sam  Answered by Rav Peretz Moncharsh

Generally speaking it would be forbidden because it could lead one to think less respectfully of the Rabbi who was unsuccessful in raising his children. In certain specific situations where there is direct benefit to the one hearing the information (such as to comfort someone whose own child is not religious) and where no negative implication is intended, it may be permitted. However, these halachos are very complicated and a specific question should be asked before relating such information.
