|Halacha - Mashiv HaRuach 90 times|
|Submitted by anonymous Answered by Rav Peretz Moncharsh|
One who has passed the place where mashiv haruach is recited and does not remember if he said it correctly is assumed to have recited Shmona Esrei according to his habit. Chazal defined that until 30 days or 90 times one is still accustomed to saying morid hatal and until that point would have to repeat Shmona Esrei. The Rema mentions the concept of saying mashiv haruach 90 times consecutively and not over 30 days as sufficing, however there are Rishonim who disapprove. Furthermore, it is not at all certain that singing mashiv haruach will accustom one to say the appropriate words when he is davening, because presumably he does not sing Shmona Esrei. However if one had properly habituated himself to saying mashiv haruach, then a single time of saying morid hatal, whether intentional or by mistake, will not undo the chazaka that has been created to say mashiv haruach and if one is in doubt what he said he need not repeat Shmona Esrei.
